When we visit restaurants, cafes or bars we often appreciate the warm, cozy or charming atmosphere at these food establishments without paying much attention to how they actually function. Much of the atmosphere and setting is created by the lighting and the lighting fixtures. Just imagine your favorite pub, restaurant or cafe with different lighting or a different kind of fixture. It would really change the overall mood and seem different, wouldn't it? This is why lighting is so important to the architectural layout of an eatery.

Your lighting and lighting fixtures play a big role in the creation of mood at your restaurant, cafe or bar. It also plays a big role in the aesthetic appeal of your restaurant, and diners notice. Bars and pubs typically benefit from ceiling lights that create a warm glow to see food and drinks. The pub or bar should not however be too bright, and some of the places should be kept dark to create a mood for a night scene when bars and pubs typically get a lion's share of business.

Cafes on the other hand often benefit from bright light coming from wire fixtures. The cafe is often the stopping place of many in the morning and early afternoon for a snack. A warm and bright atmosphere created by the light helps people settle into your place and relax. The mood and lighting can be described as the opposite of a bar or pub scene. A restaurant can be more or less bright than a cafe depending on the type of restaurant and the peak time it operates. Bistros may benefit from being bright, while upscale restaurants may want a more dark and sophisticated look from their ceiling lights.
